The Mission Committee Invites You to Meet Our Missionaries
This pandemic has been so difficult for all of us – separating us from our loves ones and all of you. But technology has allowed us to meet online – in our little boxes – and maintain some of our vital connections. The Mission Committee wants to use this technology to connect you with the missionaries and mission partners that you support through your tithes and offerings.
Starting this September 1st and the first Tuesday of subsequent months, you can now tune in to our meetings via ZOOM. You will be able to hear directly from our mission partners about the many ways God is using them to accomplish His will here in Delaware County, in our country and throughout the world. To sign up, go to www.mediapresbyterian.org/events and scroll down to Mission Committee. You will find the link to the Zoom meeting there. Tune in to the meeting from 7 to 7:30, and engage with our partners during the first part of our meeting.
Our next meetings and featured speakers are:
May 4 Rev. Zuline Wilkinson
Zuline Wilkinson is the Executive Director of Chester Eastside, Inc. (CEI), an agency in Chester, Pa that provides much needed food/meals and after school programming, all for both children and adults. Among some of the programs included are the Hunger and Safety Net/Emergency Food, Phoenix After School, summer Camp Phoenix, Food Matters Kids!, Mother’s Club and HiSet. Recently, CEI became a United Way funded agency. More explanation of these programs will be shared by Rev Wilkinson.
June 1 Bill Strine
Bill Strine is the Chairman of the Board for Compassion for Life, an organization which oversees several ministries in Liberia. MPC’s Mission Committee provides support specifically for Cheerful Givers School, a K-12 school in Paynesville, Liberia that offers education opportunities to over 800 students. Compassion for Life has been able to cover the salaries of 26 certified teachers, a principal and an overseer of the school. Also, scholarships towards a college degree have been made available to a few students. Bill Strine and the Missions Committee hopes we can be joined on zoom by Bishop Nimely Donyen, a contact who is able to share needs firsthand.
