Church Service Opportunities

Ushering at MPC

The Psalmist speaks of the pleasure in being “Doorkeeper in the House of the Lord.” Ushers are more than just people who hand out bulletins or check off a list of Sunday morning duties – ushers engage in a deep ministry of hospitality to our members and especially to our visitors. They are in that strategic position where worshipers obtain first impressions, and also have the privilege of leading people through the doors and into the atmosphere of the church service. Much like a hostess of a restaurant who knows where the table is, or the usher at a concert who leads ticket holders down the aisle to the exact location, Ushers have the capability of allowing people to feel that they are cared for – particularly our visitors who may be totally new to a worship experience. The church is the only institution that exists for those people who are not its members.  Let us do all we can and equip ourselves to invite others in and make them feel welcome. If you are outgoing, enjoy meeting new people and helping others, this may be your gift and calling. Contact Rev. Passante for more information.

Provide Rides to Worship

Our church bus provides transportation to those who need for our summer 10 a.m. service. When our services change to 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the fall, there may be members of our congregation who will need a ride to church for the 9:30 a.m. service. Our hope is to match individuals or families willing to provide transportation, with individuals in need. This is a wonderful way to get to know other members of our congregation while providing a valuable ministry to people in need within our worshiping community. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Rev. Passante or Sandy Mullican.

The Senior Craftsmen

The Senior Craftsmen is a group of seasoned carpenters from our church who performs a myriad of home repairs and engage in a variety of construction projects that help to benefit the surrounding community and its residents.  They are best known for constructing much-needed wheelchair ramps throughout Media and Chester and their work in churches throughout the city.  Most, if not all, of their work is done at no cost.  The Senior Craftsmen meet every Thursday.  If you are interested in joining these gentlemen, please call the church office at 610.566.3944 x16 and leave a message.  The Senior Craftsmen DO NOT do roofing.
