A Quick Word

May 17, 2019

Good afternoon church family!

Every  meeting of our Church's elders begins and ends with prayer.  We also have a devotional time to refocus on our Lord Jesus Christ with the intention of keeping him at the center of all we do.  This past Tuesday, I invited our elders to read the following scripture and listen for God's voice speaking to them. I invite you to join our elders in listening for the voice of God as God declares how precious and valuable you are to him!

Warmly in Christ,
Jonathan

READ:  Zephaniah 3:14-18 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion;

   shout, O Israel!

Rejoice and exult with all your heart,

   O daughter of Jerusalem!

15 The Lord has taken away the judgments against you;

   he has cleared away your enemies.

The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst;

   you shall never again fear evil.

16 On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem:

“Fear not, O Zion;

   let not your hands grow weak.

17 The Lord your God is in your midst,

   a mighty one who will save;

he will rejoice over you with gladness;

   he will quiet you by his love;

he will exult over you with loud singing.

God uses several names to refer to his people including: Israel, daughter of Zion and daughter of Jerusalem. Now, insert your name into each blank and read the scripture two more times:

Sing aloud, O__________________;

   shout, O ______________!

Rejoice and exult with all your heart,

   O ______________________!

15 The Lord has taken away the judgments against you;

   he has cleared away your enemies.

   you shall never again fear evil.

16 On that day it shall be said to __________________ :

“Fear not, O _____________________;
