I'm too focused on what is coming next in my day...my next need...my next meeting...my next chore in the house...my next whatever that I forget to think about the next time I will rest in You. Forgive me that it is so much easier to think about "I" and "me" then "You" and "Rest".

Heavenly Father, Thank You for allowing us to approach Your throne of grace with confidence to lay bare our soul in all of its messy, imperfect, fearful, wonderful humanity. When we cannot find the words to say, we thank You that Your Word—in the Psalms—gives voice to the cries of our hearts.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to remember that we don’t need most of what we want. Guide us in setting our heart’s desires not on earthly riches, but on heavenly treasures. God, help us to find our contentment in You and the promise of living in Your House for all our lives. In Christ’s Name, Amen.
