Women's Ministries

Women’s Ministries at MPC seek to provide opportunities for women to bloom and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and to be of service in Christ’s kingdom.  We don't have a formal structure with officers and board meetings but rather try to form more organic connections amongst women and the broader church community.

Below are women's Bible studies which are open to all.

We also do occasional special activities like the Women’s Day Apart one-day retreats and Breakfasts and a monthly book club and an ongoing prayer shawl ministry.  Many groups have a specific mission or ministry outside of their group that they seek to support.

If you are interested in any of these ministry opportunities, please contact the person specific to that ministry. Meanwhile, make yourself at home!

Here is the Women's Ministry Directory 2016-2017.pdf, if you would like all of the information in one place.

Currently studying Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver. Circle 8 meets monthly at members’ homes. We begin our meetings with light refreshments, followed by prayers, praises, and a study. In the past, we have provided meals for members when needed, due to illness. We have been involved in hosting Christmas and Spring dinners. This past year our mission support was for CityTeam Ministries.

We meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month at various members’ homes.

Our time together includes light refreshments, sharing, devotions, study and prayer.  Our sharing time is often "directed" by the word of the month, chosen by our study leader.  Everyone takes a turn sharing a story related to that word and everyone listens.

This year we are excited to be learning more about the character of God based on the book Discovering God in Stories from the Bible by Philip Graham Ryken.

We have decided once again to support Compassion Corps with our mission offerings and hope to do a little volunteering at City Team.

Circle 7 meets monthly on the 1st Wednesday at members’ homes for fellowship, refreshments, prayer and Bible study.  We select a new Bible study each Fall for the coming year.  Some of our group work full or part time and others are retired.

This year (2014) we have chosen "The Gospel According to Disney" as our study.

Our mission monies have helped support Marcia Reed at the Frederick Douglass School in Chester, City Team's Mother and Child program, a young student in Guatemala, Compassion Corps, and other local ministries.
