High School and Middle School Praise Teams

One would be hard-pressed to find a teen that does not love or appreciate at least some form of music.  Because music is a large part of our corporate worship here at Media Presbyterian Church, we believe it is important to be encouraging and to provide training and ministry opportunities for the musicians among our youth.

The Middle School Praise Team meets Sunday evenings during our program year from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., directly following Middle School youth group.  Middle school musicians are learning to sing new praise & worship songs as well as gradually incorporating accompanying instruments such as guitar, piano, and African drums.

The High School Praise Team meets Sunday evenings during our program year from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m, before High School youth group.   These teens are using their voices and instruments to worship God and serve the congregation by learning new praise and worship songs and developing their musical skills in fellowship with each other.

Both middle school and high school musicians have the opportunity to help lead corporate worship for the 11:00 a.m. service once a month, as well as to participate in special services such as the annual Christmas concert, Christmas Eve Family Service, Easter Vigil, Combined Services and Ash Wednesday.

Middle and high school singers will have opportunities throughout the year to join in a combined choir with our children and adult singers - the MPC Voices of Praise.  We hope to have a youth instrumental ensemble beginning in the fall of 2013, as well, playing periodically at services.
