Scripture:  Psalm 149

Today’s Devotion:

Anyone who knows me well knows that I love music a lot.  I’m actually listening to music while I’m writing this. Music, singing especially, is a big part of my life, always has been, always will be. It’s how I cope with my feelings and express myself, but I’ll admit that most of the music that I sing/listen to isn’t praising the Lord, like Psalm 149 is directing me to do.  Now, I’m not saying that I listen to hard-core rap with a curse word in every sentence, but if you looked at my playlist, you wouldn’t find much Christian music either. This is due to the fact that I love  country music and am kind of obsessed with One Direction (if you don’t know who they are, Google them). Anyway, the bottom line is this: we all could use our voices to praise God a little more in our everyday lives, because let’s be honest, He really deserves it.

Dear God:  Please help me to use my voice that You have given to me to praise You and glorify Your name. Help my words remind others that they should praise You too. Amen
