Most gracious and forgiving Father, during this Lent season and beyond, help me to know and follow You. You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, born in a manger to give me a promise. May I read and listen to Your words and grow in my relationship with You. Amen.

Scripture:  John 1: 35-42

Today’s Devotion:

“'Come,' he replied, 'and you will see.' So they went and saw where He was staying, and spent that day with Him.”  I read this passage and think of my children, as most of my days are encompassed by them. This seems so easy to do in the eyes of a child. My children are told to follow something I say or their teachers at school and they listen, most of the time, because they trust what they are being told. Their simple trust is an example of how I need to live my faith and trust in Christ.  My daughter eagerly tells me of the great things she has learned or about the good friends she has made in school.   Her eagerness is like Andrew. The excitement and quickness of sharing good news is how I want and need to live also. I want to desire to share the good news of Jesus and God's love for us. It is joyous news. Andrew knows that Jesus is the Lamb of God and is eager to tell others. During this season, I see my children's eagerness and am encouraged that I must share mine. They have faith in knowing that I love them and want good for them as I must have faith to follow God for His reasons and not my own. Spending more of my time with God will only help my relationship strengthen and grow and understand His love for me better.
