Arun's Bible Center and Gifts for the Girls

On Friday, February 26, Howard and I visited Arun's Bible Training Center, which is a relatively new four-storey building near the Girls’ Home in Dharwad.  We sat in for the morning session for the staff and students in the Bible training program.  I gave the message, and I decided to speak from the same passage that I spoke from when I gave the message to Pastor George’s church in KaiKaaty – Matthew 25: 14-30 – The Parable of the Talents, and I concluded with a passage from Ephesians 6: 10-18 – The Armor of God.  After the morning session, Arun gave Howard and me a tour of the Bible Training Center, and we learned an interesting fact about it.  The value of the building was decreased because it has a straight road leading up to it.  People in the area believe that a straight road allows evil spirits to enter the building, whereas a curved road does not.  After the morning session at the Bible Training Center, Arun drove Howard and me to two of the Hindu temples where women and children are initiated into the Devadasi system of temple prostitution.  I will discuss this trip in a more detailed blog entry later, as I told Arun that I would e-mail it to him first so he could review it due to the sensitivity of the subject.  In the evening we gave the gifts that we brought to the girls.  They were very sweet and appreciative of the gifts, and they love getting their pictures taken, as do Pastor George’s boys.  The girls called me “Anna” (Big Brother) and they called Howard “Ajja” (Grandpa).
