Lenten Loaves of Love

Lenten Loaves of Love provides several ways for us to share our love for God and for our neighbors during this season that culminates in the triumph and joy of the Resurrection. Through Lenten Loaves of Love we may also memorialize or honor our family and friends at Easter. Your gifts to Lenten Loaves of Love will enable us not only to beautify our sanctuary with flowers, but also to show our love for God and our neighbors in a concrete way.

The Women of Media Presbyterian Church (WMPC) is sponsoring the eighth annual Lenten Loaves of Love in order to support three international Christian missions connected to MPC, as well as to provide Easter flowers for our sanctuary:

1. Village of Hope Orphanage in Morocco - Village of Hope is one of two Christian orphanages in Morocco, which is part of the Arab Muslim world. Your Lenten Loaf of Love donation will help provide necessary supplies so our brothers and sisters in Morocco can raise the abandoned children whom God has given them and also “build bridges” to their Muslim neighbors. 2. Wells for Life - MPC member Dave Powell is a co-founder of this not-for-profit corporation which works to provide safe drinking water throughout the world to alleviate the suffering caused by inadequate and unsafe water supplies.
3. Compassion Corps - Compassion Corps, a division of US Center for World Mission, seeks to bring help and hope to those in Africa who are in need. Through various means, such as helping to provide water for a village, bringing medical teams and supplies to a certain country, or running a summer camp for children, Compassion Corps’ goal is to engage the hearts of American young people and adults and unleash hope for the hurting and needy across the ocean. In addition to these three special international mission opportunities, your contributions to Lenten Loaves of Love will enable us to provide flowers to make our sanctuary especially beautiful for Easter and to cheer our shut-ins afterwards. Each $7 gift provides a single Lenten Loaf of Love. Gifts received by Sunday, March 21, will be acknowledged in the bulletin on Easter Sunday.

During this season that culminates in the triumph and joy of the Resurrection, share your love for God and for your neighbors as you give a Lenten Loaf (or Loaves!) of Love.
